I had a very special (and fun) opportunity yesterday to go to lunch with one of my very dear friends, Jennie Little. It had been 3 years since we saw it each other last - much too long! We shared what we had been doing for the past three years, revisited so many crazy events we went through in college, and brought each other up to speed on what mutuals friends are up to now.
On my way home, I couldn't help but think how blessed and lucky I am to have such amazing, wonderful people in my life. Jennie is one of those treasured friends that, even though we don't talk frequently, we are able to pick up where we left off. It was so exciting to see her again and catch up on missed time.
Jennie brought pictures from college days and we reminsced about all the neat people we knew, the weird things we did and the bonding experiences we shared. From double dates to quiet nights in our apartment, we shared many wonderful times.
Who have you lost contact with that you would love to talk to again? Who had a substantial impact in your life, yet you haven't seen for years? Who would you like to laugh with?
I am making it my personal focus this year to connect with people - people I know and individuals I will yet meet. There is a tremendous power we get from being around supportive, loving people. Take a few minutes this week and connnect with someone who loves you just for being you. It's tremendous! And it's feels so good to laugh and remember special times that may have slipped from recent memory.
All my love,
Tara
